Utopia, an idealistic world in which conflict does not exist and society is a epitome of harmony and cohesion. This is a dream, a state of ideology of which humanity aims to reach, but fails; past world wars and current political corruption gives a vivid depiction of this. Thus, in striving for idyll, we as humans unconsciously contribute to the reality that is a Dystopian society; this collection draws inspiration from this reality, specifically in relation to those who have fought its repercussions; soldiers of world war and military battles (with war being a prime example of dystopia). It aims to encapsulate the ideas of shortages, rations and most importantly, the modernist principle of 'FORM FOLLOWS    FUNCTION'’. A VERSATILE and TRANSFORMABLE collection, these pieces obtain both primary and secondary functions, conscious of the needs of soldiers on the front line. It uses engineering and FUNDAMENTAL MATHEMATICS to push the core purpose of clothing and sheds a new light on ‘street wear’. This collection, whilst takes inspiration from a grim stimulus, aims to demonstrate this as a potential platform for CALCULATEDcreativity;  thus, this collections aims to question whether a dystopian reality can TRANSFORM into a utopian dream?
